Today is the final day for Inspired to Action’s Forty-Day Fast. It has been an amazing event- one that I am honored to have been a part of. On this final day the Inspired to Action team is encouraging bloggers far and wide to find a simple way to meet someone’s tangible need, and then asking that we blog and pray for that need.
As I ponder the forty- day fast I am amazed as I realize that people from every walk of life are engaged in meeting the needs of the hurting world around them all from a spark that God started in the heart of one of His children. In obedience that burning coal was taken form the fire, and placed in a pit of tender hearts that were ready to take action. Now with every person that chooses to step out of their comfort zone, and in the life of someone who is hurting the fire spreads; lives are enriched and changed. Not only for the present, but with God help, for all eternity.
The wheels of my head have been turning nonstop with ideas of needs that I could meet. There are so many, and I wish I had the time and resources to meet each need that has crossed my mind today. But, I have decided keep this going and consciously go out of my way to meet a need for at lest one person every week.
For today I am going to write to my sponsored Compassion child, send a book of stamps to Eli’s Angels, and write a note to a hurting friend.
While today marks the end of this year’s forty-day fast, let’s make this the beginning of a revelation to have our minds set on meeting the needs of others on the name of our Lord.
The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.' Matthew 25:40
