Silent Night Holy Night

Other than scripture itself, nothing captures the beauty, depth and wonder of Christmas more than the carols that have been handed down from generation to generation- melodies that we hold deep in our hearts that remind us of the gift of love that came to earth as a baby born in a manger- that though His death and resurrection we might be reconciled to God for all eternally.

Who better to sing of that holy, silent night than Lexi. I pray you all have a wonderful Christmas. May this season be full of reminders that God is with us!

Only By God's Gift of Grace,

Melissa

You my friend can't be more precious or sweet!

Lexi is so embarrassed by the old videos - he he he! Her voice has matured so much since then - hard to believe they are only a little over a year old.

Guess that means it is time for us to record all of them again!

Have a blessed day and know that we hold you before the throne of grace daily and many times throughout the day.

Lots of love,
Jill

Interesting blog. Lexi has a pretty voice, and I affirm and encourage her stand for moral purity.

It was your clip of Silent Night that led me to your site this morning. (This is the 218th anniversary of the birth of the author of that carol, Josph Mohr.) Today you can learn more about the writing of the song on my daily blog on hymns, Wordwise Hymns.

And if you’ll excuse a brief “commercial:” If you don't have a good book on the subject of our Christmas carols, I encourage you to take a look at my own, Discovering the Songs of Christmas. In it, I discuss the history and meaning of 63 carols and Christmas hymns. The book is available through Amazon, or directly from Jebaire Publishing. (Might make a great gift too!)
