Jonah

Over the last couple of days I have encountered the story of Jonah from a couple different angles. The first, the story as told by a child. This video is truly a must see!

The story of Jonah from Corinth Baptist Church on Vimeo.

This story of Jonah speaks powerfully to our human nature in contrast with the character God. Through Jonah we see that despite our desire to run from God; despite our sin His love  remains.

There is never a place we can go that God does not see us.

His greatest concern is our hearts.

He is desires full obedience.

He hears the cry of a repentant heart.

When we step out in faith and obey Him He will show Himself faithful.

He is a God of second chances- full of compassion, slow to anger, and abounding in love.

He desires to use us, and calls us to proclaim His message of love, forgiveness, and grace to the world that is dying without it!

They will know we are Christians by our love!

What does the story of Jonah speak to you?

This poem was written by the daughter of a couple whom I deeply respect. Emily captrures the emotions of Jonah so well.

Only by His Grace,

Melissa
